Head Teacher’s welcome

Our wonderful school is known for its inclusive ethos and caring approach. All children are supported with their individual needs and interests, encouraging them to flourish into the fantastic life-long learners that each of our young people have the potential to become.

Our new vision

I joined the school as Head Teacher in January 2021 and have great plans for improvement across all areas of school life: from the level of progress made in reading, writing and maths, to the variety of after-school clubs on offer, and the ambition and resilience of our children. In fact, many of these improvements are already underway.

I believe that every child who attends our school has their own brilliance and it is our responsibility and privilege to enable them to find and develop their talent. After consulting with pupils, families, staff and governors in early 2021, we developed a new mission statement, vision and values for the school. These will form the basis of our continual drive for improvement.

A bit about me

Before coming to Ashbourne Hilltop, I gained years of leadership experience at an outstanding Infant and Nursery school — many of those years were spent as its Head Teacher. I’m also an experienced forest school practitioner. Just as importantly, I’m a dad to two young children, so I understand the joys and challenges of parenting.

I can’t wait to lead Ashbourne Hilltop through its next exciting chapter. If you would like to find out more about me, my team, and our caring school, please contact us to arrange a visit or phone chat.
