Curriculum Mission

Here at Ashbourne Hilltop we provide a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum. The schools mission is to enable each and every pupil to become happy, secure, enthusiastic life-long learners who can experience and celebrate personal success. We will inspire our pupils with a passion to learn, to achieve and to succeed.

The purpose of our curriculum is to ensure all Hilltop children are kind, courageous and confident life-long learners, helping them to “REACH FAR”, towards becoming the best possible version of themselves in our increasingly diverse world.

Curriculum Planning 2021-22

Our curriculum is planned by our teaching staff in order to excite and enthuse our pupils, while also meeting the requirements of the national curriculum. Below you will find the current topic map for all year groups.

Curriculum Planning 2022-23 and beyond!

From September 2022 we are excited to be moving over to a new curriculum. We will be using the new “Curriculum 22” from Cornerstones, making adaptations to ensure that we fully engage with the needs of our pupils and utilise the local area. The curriculum map can be found below. We will be teaching this curriculum on a three year cycle, beginning with Year 2 for years 1-3 and Year 5 for years 4-6.
